Why We Love Shea Butter
Shea butter soaps, body butters, and lotions have wonderful nutritional value for the skin.
At the Soap Opera Company, we offer Pré de Provence Riche body butters in four beautiful scents: Lavender, Milk, Verbena, and White Gardenia.
These gently aromatic shea butter lotions will leave your skin feeling clean and supple.
Why Shea Butter?
Shea comes from the nuts of African trees that flourish from Mali in the west to Ethiopia in the east.
Did you know that shea butter has long been used as a natural cosmetic and skin healing aid?
Shea butter has been prized through the generations for its pain-reducing and anti-inflammatory qualities.
Skin-Nourishing Properties
In Africa's dry, hot climate, people turn to shea butter to soothe, nourish, and revitalize the skin. It’s also prized for its capacity to soften and smooth out scar tissue, stretch marks, and damaged skin.
And the word is spreading.
Today, shea butter is popular on every continent. It’s rich in vitamin C, and it has therapeutic properties. People talk about its potential to treat skin ailments. And science backs them up!
The Nourishing Nut
Check out what we know about shea. Get ready for some wow!
- Shea nuts and their butter are not only anti-inflammatory agents; they also behave as anti-tumor agents.
- Many people with dermatitis, or those who react to some soaps, hair products, and cosmetics, find that their skin feels soothed with soaps containing a shea butter base.
- Shea butter’s phenolic compounds – many of which are also found in green tea – have antioxidant properties too!
With Dry Indoor Days Approaching, Shea is a Natural
All told, shea butter makes for an outstanding moisturizer for the skin and the body. Vitamin-rich shea is typically applied to the hands and elbows, face and hair, and the shins and feet to soften and nourish the skin.

Great post. I love Shea butter I have been using it in my hair treatment and once a month I overnight hydrate my feet with it! I love it. I may have to try this brand out. I am wondering do you have oils in with it or is it pure Shea?
